מקצוע זה נלמד כאמצעי תקשורת בינלאומית ראשית- אנגלית כשפה אוניברסאלית.

בחטיבת הביניים: ביסוס הידע והמיומנויות שהוקנו בבית הספר היסודי.

שיפור יכולת התלמידות בהבנת הנשמע , בדיבור , בקריאה ובכתיבה וכן התפתחות הדרגתית של קריאה עצמית, שליטה פעילה במילים וצירופי מילים, שליטה במבני הלשון הנלמדים ביסודי ומתבססים בחט"ב.

English Language Teaching Goals in T'svia School Herzelia.

8^th Grade:

1. Reading techniques: skimming, prediction, reading to specific information, sequencing reading material, basic skills in finding main ideas, guessing meaning from context, organization of a text.
2. Oral techniques: giving and asking directions, deion of places, giving basic options, email and telephone conversations, convincing of your thoughts.
3. Dictionary skills.
4. Writing techniques: deions, advertisements, review, a paragraph on a topic.
5. Listening skills: practicing listening to tapes on interviews, opinions, instructions and deions.

Grammar:

* Review on simple tenses (present, future, past)

* past Progressive

* passive

* modals

* General review on the grammar taught in 7^th grade.

מספר שעות הוראה:

בכל מחצית 3 יחידות שבועיות (60 דקות כל יחידה)

הערכה:

בכל מחצית יהיו שלושה מבחנים , בחנים והכתבות.

במחצית  ב' יהיה גם דו"ח קריאה.

תוצאות מבדקים אלו יחד עם הכנת שיעורי בית, נוכחות והשתתפות בשיעורים יהוו את הציון הסופי

 של המחצית.
